Making a Journal

Nothing goes as good with a new blog, as a new way to scrap!

It's not that the traditional LOs are boring - by no means! But, it's aways fun to try something new. After digging through old family photos in preparation for an exam almost two weeks ago, I came across several lovely, everyday life-photos from when my mom was a kid. I don't have a scanner at the moment (should really get one...), so I snapped a few shots of the photos and printed some of them out.

I got a Moleskine at a local bookstore, got some paper and it was all 'ready-set-go!'

The first page is a photo I found of my mom and grandmother hiking (it must have been taken around 1950-1952, although I'm just making a guess). It brought back fond memories for my mom, who distinctively remember the red shoes she wore. Before I used the photo in the journal, I photoshopped it a bit to give it a pink tint. I also used Tim Holtz' Distress Ink ('Old Paper') around the edges. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and has been altered slightly with Tim Holtz' 'Tatteres Rose' and Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mist ('Antique Brass') - same has the tag from Panduro. Chipboard (courtesy of Anne Liv) from Maya Road, flowers from Prima - and after wanting one for quite some time, lettering made from Dymo-tape. Stamps from Marah Johnson and Stampers Anonymous. Buttons and lace from local shops.
